AI + Human Collaboration Via Human Tool Mediated Loop (HTML??)

In this post we introduce one approach to facilitating tight human + bot collaboration that we think offers exciting possibilities.

As opposed to human-in-the-loop, where in a human is looped into an AI driven flow, we show an approach that has both the bot and the human in a tight loop having a back-and-forth interaction mediated via a human tool. Human tool in this case simply means a UI application, within Solvent, it means web apps.

Conceptually, one can think of this approach as bringing the CoPilot mode of AI integration into more general human workflows. CoPilot generally means integrating AI into existing software products and systems (excel, docs, Adobe...etc).

With HTML (my hands are up, don't shoot 😉), the CoPilot approach can apply to general human workflows that are not tied to any specific product.

Of course you can hook AI into any piece of software you create now but we think an integrated platform approach for something such as this works much better, ie the platform provides all the bells are whistles involved into integrating AI and developer (maybe Citizen Developer/VibeCoder) can focus only on creating the human tool functionality.

Where do we go from here? Some thoughts and speculation.

A lot of technologist are rightfully fretting about what the future holds for tech careers, especially in software developer roles. Perhaps it is time to think less about what tab-tab-go programming would mean for the future of developer roles and rather how those existing skill-sets could be leveraged in an AI world. AI Agents: Human Synthesis vs Human Substitutes

Human synthesis vs human substitute , this appears to be the two core perspectives for accessing AI when it comes to agentic execution. From a human synthesis perspective, you observe that for the first time we have broad computational access to what were previously uniquely human capabilities. At the moment this can be enumerated as the ability to speak , see , hear and understand information . When hominoid robotics are mature enough, we can add the ability to use limbs to this synthesis. Prior to the emergence of LLMs, if you had a process that required any one of these capabilities, you needed to plug a human into the loop.
